Versiliese Projects

Sculpture development and production direction

An independent artist-led studio developing sculptural works for architecture, interior and yacht design, from the initial brief through production and installation.

Established experience, a new structure.

Versiliese Projects was established to give a stable structure to processes developed over the years by Valentina Lucarini Orejón and Maicol Borghetti through their own works, commissions for Fonderia Artistica Versiliese and projects for private clients.

The studio operates in Versilia, between Viareggio and Pietrasanta’s network of specialist workshops. Direct knowledge of materials and production makes it possible to manage artistic quality, feasibility, costs and schedules together.

Valentina and Maicol personally oversee every project, combining artistic expertise, digital tools and knowledge of production processes. The client therefore has one clear direction from the initial analysis to the completed work.

Sculpture development for complex projects.

Yachts and marine interiors

Site-specific works developed with yacht designers, interior designers, shipyards and technical managers, taking account of the vessel’s spaces, materials, access routes and requirements. Structures and certifications are defined with the professionals appointed by the shipyard.

Architecture and public spaces

Sculptures and installations for interiors, façades, atriums, squares, institutional settings and places of worship, developed with architects and designers and integrated into the wider project.

Art and private commissions

Development and production for artists, foundations, collectors and private clients, beginning with an idea, drawing, physical model or digital file, including works to be enlarged or translated into another material.

Production collaborations

Support for foundries, workshops and companies requiring artistic development, 3D modelling, estimating or commission coordination.

Every estimate is already the beginning of the project.

The process does not follow a rigid sequence: it is built around the work, the client, its materials, the workshops involved and its final destination.

Brief and estimate

We analyse the idea, available models and context. The estimate includes an initial assessment of form, dimensions, materials, weights, processes, schedules, technical issues and installation: it is not simply a financial calculation, but a practical foundation for the project.

Artistic and technical development

The proposal takes shape through drawings, maquettes, modelling, scanning or visualisation. We verify proportions, divisions, thicknesses and compatibility with the selected production processes.

Planning and production

After approval, we define workshops, responsibilities, schedules, approvals and interim checks. We coordinate the different specialists while maintaining continuity between stages and a unified vision of the work.

Finishing and installation

We supervise surfaces, patinas and final inspection, then coordinate transport and installation with appointed installers and technical specialists. For monumental works, public spaces and marine installations, structural verification and final approvals remain the responsibility of qualified professionals and the project’s technical managers.

Led by artists, built around the work.

Valentina Lucarini Orejón

Artist and Project Director

An Italian-Spanish sculptor, she grew up in her family foundry, Fonderia Artistica Versiliese. She has direct knowledge of lost-wax casting, from mould making and casting to chasing and finishing.

She oversees sculptural development, production feasibility, workshop relations and quality control throughout the different stages of production.

Maicol Borghetti

Artist and Project Director

A sculptor and visual artist from Versilia, he works across sculpture, photography, video and digital processes.

He oversees concepts, 3D modelling and scanning, technical definition, estimates and project materials, and the overall coordination of commissions.

Fonderia Artistica Versiliese

For bronze works, casting and foundry processes are entrusted to Fonderia Artistica Versiliese, founded in Pietrasanta in 1975 by Gino Lucarini and now directed by his sons Tiberio, Franco and Gabriele.

This family connection links Versiliese Projects to five decades of lost-wax casting expertise. The studio remains independent and retains artistic direction, coordination and quality control throughout each commission.

For marble, stone, resin, 3D printing, structures and mixed media, specialist workshops are selected according to the work, its scale and required finishes.
